The best pharmacy technicians in Germany compete against each other
The pharmacy technicians are constantly facing new tasks and demands. It is important for them to constantly expand their skills. It is equally crucial to boost the public image of the pharmacy technician profession.
That’s why the German Pharmacy Technicians Championship was created in close collaboration with the Federal Pharmacy Technician Performance Centre at the Völker School in Osnabrück as well as the ‘WorldSkills Germany e.V.’ association. The competition is sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. It supports pharmacy technicians in expanding their professional potential as well as their passion for the pharmaceutical industry and the local pharmacy.
Experience four days of intensive preliminary rounds and a thrilling final in which the 18 most talented pharmacy technicians from all over Germany will demonstrate their skills in various disciplines. The assignments include typical pharmacy tasks such as preparing prescriptions, taking blood pressure, window dressing, consulting and dispensing medicines. The preliminary rounds will take place on the first three days of the trade fair. The two best participants in each round will qualify for the grand final on the Saturday of the trade fair. The six finalists will compete for the title of ‘German Skilled Pharmacy Technician Champion’. In addition to the prestigious title, the winner will receive prize money totalling 2,000 euros.
The German Pharmacy Technicians Championship is more than just a national platform. It is also an important stepping stone for participation in international competitions. The six finalists will be given the opportunity to become part of the German national vocational team and qualify at European or global level.
